Thyroid diagnostics
Data from the latest large-scale studies of thyroid disease (Papillon studies) indicated that up to 40% of the subjects had a pathological thyroid finding with nodular changes to or enlargement of the thyroid gland. The latest exam numbers also indicate an increase in malignant thyroid tumors. Thyroid diseases are thus often determined without immediate clinical symptoms.
To further improve patient care for thyroid disease and to clarify and discuss unclear thyroid findings, the practice offers a special thyroid consultation period outside of normal office hours in a thyroid outpatient center. Sonography, thyroid scintigraphy, clinical and chemical lab tests, including fine needle puncture of the thyroid gland, can be provided during this consultation. An extensive discussion of the findings is then held.
