Long-term smokers in particular have a significantly higher risk of lung cancer. Because normal X-ray imaging is not reliable enough to eliminate such a malignant lung disease, a method was introduced in the USA initially whereby a low-dose computed tomography image is used to examine the thorax and thus the lungs. The Radiology Baden-Baden practice has a high-end CT that requires just a minimum amount of radiation exposure.
